When you first start being an entrepreneur you’re pretty darn clueless about what other people are doing and the best ways to make yourself successful. I’m a firm believer in learning from those who have come before you so when I started my entrepreneur journey I looked towards a ton of other people to find out the best daily habits of successful entrepreneurs.
This list of habits has been compiled from both things I’ve noticed to be helpful in my own life as well as tips I’ve noticed to be helpful for other entrepreneurs in the online space! You ready for the list… okay, okay, stop yelling at me. Let’s dig in!
7 Daily Habits of Successful Entrepreneurs
They wake up early
I’m a sleeper, there’s no secret there. I love sleep more than I love most of my family. One thing I have noticed however is that the days when I sleep past 8 am are the days where I am much less productive. Successful people know that the best thing to do for productivity is to wake up early (usually with the sun) and get your day going early.
Entrepreneurs have a ton of things to get done in a single day and sleeping in is just a waste of productive hours of the day! I will say that some successful entrepreneurs are able to succeed by being night owls but most of us love to see the sunrise and start to grind in the AM.
One thing you need to realize is that if you’re a night owl and you like to sleep in is that most of your fellow entrepreneurs and competition are awake at the crack of dawn. Who knows… they could be answering that email for a big opportunity that you missed because you were sleeping! Just some food for thought.
They set daily goals & use to-do lists
I don’t know if you know this but entrepreneurs are busy busy busy bees. On any given day there can be 100 things to do and our brains are going a million miles a minute. The best way that entrepreneurs have found to combat the crazy amount of things they need to accomplish is to create daily goals and to do lists.
A huge thing for entrepreneurs is to figure out their daily top 3. I recently started incorporating a top 3 into my to-do lists and it’s changed my life! So a top 3 works by writing out a big to-do list with as many items as you think can be done in a day and decide which three tasks are the most important that MUST get done before you’re allowed to go to bed. Any other tasks that you’re able to get done are just awesome fun amazing extras.
Creating a to-do list is the absolute best way for an entrepeneur to ensure that they’re able to get everything done that they need to so they use them to their full advantage.
They exercise daily
The most important tool you have in your business is you. Successful entrepreneurs are aware of this fact and they understand that in order for them to work at their full capacity they have to be in the best shape they can be and with the highest possible energy!
Entrepreneurs are known for making exercise a priority in their day and making sure they have time in their schedule to hit the gym or go for a run.
One of my favourite examples of this is Casey Neistat (The very very famous Youtube vlogger & businessman). Casey has a wife and two kids and a business and a vlog channel and he seems like he never stops but he still makes time to run for at least an hour every day. He makes it a priority and he’s in amazing shape.
They prepare & plan for everything
Entrepreneurs know that “failure to plan is planning to fail” so they have a plan for everything. They have plans for their business, plans for their finances, and so much more. One of the most important kinds of plans is the 5-year plan or 10-year plan because it torpedos an entrepreneur into the future and shows them where they can be in just a few short years!
They associate with like-minded people
Did you know that you are the product of the 5 people you spend the most time with? Entrepreneurs are success driven people and they want to surround themselves with people who are just as driven and motivated so they aren’t ever dragged down by the habits of other people!
This is a big reason why so many entrepreneurs have mastermind groups. Unsure of what a mastermind is? Well, in simple terms, a mastermind is a group of focused business people who are there to bring each other up and help each other reach higher levels of business success. Having these relationships is a great way to keep yourself motivated because you see the success of the people around you and you want to reach for the stars!
One thing entrepreneurs don’t put up with is toxic friendships because they don’t have the time to put up with someone’s crap!
They practice self-care
It honestly doesn’t matter who you are, but self-care is one of the absolute best things you can do for both your sanity and your productivity. Entrepreneurs know that they work best when they’ve taken care of themselves first.
Technically, I would put exercise in the self-care department and there are a few other great things to do that are great for self-care. Some examples include taking days off, taking a bubble bath, doing a face mask, eating healthy but also letting yourself have dessert, etc.
They read a lot
To be an entrepreneur you have to be willing to be constantly learning and be willing to adapt to situations and the best way to learn how to deal with situations is to read how other people have dealt with them. You’ll constantly find entrepreneurs reading self-development books to learn how to be a better human!
Reading is also one of the best ways to get yourself to sleep because reading can calm your brain down and you’ll fall into a much deeper sleep than if you were to watch a movie a TV show and sleep is so important when you’re a business person!
Being an entrepreneur is fun and scary and can change your entire outlook on the world! Keep on learning and keep on figuring out ways to make being your own boss easier! Thanks so so much for reading, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for more good stuff like this!
